After a three-year battle with lung cancer, James Phillip Morris (Hubbi/Poppy) left the side of his wife and soulmate, Colleen, on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 and joined the angels. At the time of his death, he was surrounded by family and those who loved him the most. Jim was born on July 10, 1948 to Phillip and Betty (Richert) Morris in Toledo. Jim graduated from Libbey High School and proudly served in the United States Army in Berlin. He worked at Jeep in Toledo for 30 years. He married the love of his life, Colleen Shinavar, Aug. 22, 1992 in Toledo. Not only did he find love with Colleen, he also gained the love of a daughter, Jamie, and adored his role as grandfather. Family was the most important thing to Jim, and he loved his whole family with all his heart. He was a great fan of the Detroit Lions, Detroit Red Wings, Ohio State Buckeyes, and never lost the faith in any of his teams. His dog, Jake, was the light of his life. A great day for Jim was driving all over Northwest Ohio, and now he gets to explore new territories in heaven with his beloved family and friends. Jim is survived by wife, Colleen, daughter Jamie (Jeff) Kaczmarski, grandchildren Aiden and Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Linda. Also surviving are brothers Paul (Kimm), John, Rick, “Sis” Sharon, goddaughter Lisa, Aunt Merla (affectionately known as Aunt Mo), and many nieces and nephews. Per Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Any memorials in Jim’s name should be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The Walker Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements, www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
