James Anthony Metzger

June 16, 1931 — April 28, 2015

James Anthony Metzger, age 83, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by his family.  He was born on June 16, 1931 to Oscar and Emma (Roth) Metzger in North Baltimore, Ohio. Jim was a stationary engineer and retired from the former Medical College of Ohio.  He proudly served his country in the US Navy.  Jim was a member of St. Rose Parish, where he served as an usher and a member of the Five Point Steam Threshers.  He enjoyed working on engines, woodworking and gardening.  His greatest joy is family, especially his grandchildren. Jim is survived by his wife, Marilyn Jean son, Michael (Jennifer); daughter, Annetta Annie (Doug); grandchildren, James, Addison, Liam, Jaegar and Irelynn; and his brother, Daryl (Ruth).  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline and brothers, Dean and Thomas. Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 2PM - 4PM and 6PM - 8PM with a Rosary Service at 7PM.  Prayers will begin at the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Friday, May 1, 2015 followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. Rose Parish, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, Ohio. Interment to follow at St. Rose Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E.
