James Robert Meier

James Robert Meier, 74, Resident of Bemidji, MN died on October 7th, 2017 in Ohio near his family. James, who went by Jim, was born on November 26th, 1942 in Glenview,IL; the son of Robert and Loraine Meier. Jim lived in many places throughout his lifetime, including Illinois, Colorado, South Dakota, Minnesota and Ohio. He and his wife, Mary Harding, settled in Bemidji at the banks of the Mississippi River. Jim worked as a tool and die maker for many years. Jim had many interests, including automobiles, books and being closer to nature. He was very intelligent and the life of any party. He continued to love his late wife Mary very much, up until his death. Jim will be fondly remembered. He is survived by children, Katheryn Meier of IL, Karen Cruz (Mike Logsdon) of IL, Daniel (Gina) Meier of OH; grandchildren, Seth Anderson of KS, Stephanie Cruz of MO, Jacob Meier of OH, Abigail Meier of OH; sister, Connie Krulik of WI; sister-in-law, Shirley Harding of ND and Jim’s many friends. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Harding; sister, Sharon Meier and parents Robert and Loraine Meier. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held later privately.
