James “Ted” Lynch, 81, of Northwood passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Friday, June 11, 2021. Ted was born on June 26, 1939 to the late Ray and Mary Lou Lynch in South Charleston, WV. After completing high school, Ted served his country valiantly in the service of the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged, he began work as a traveling machinist, later working for the Toledo Shipyard and maintenance at St. Charles Mercy Hospital for over 30 years, from where he retired. During his time as a traveling machinist, he met the love of his life, Judith Miller and the two were married on July 25, 1966 in Detroit, MI. Though he was a dedicated employee, those who loved Ted will remember him for the enjoyment he found in camping, especially at Adventure Bound Pleasant View in Van Buren, OH; the countless hours he spent with the Northwood VFW; woodworking, though he has a collection of unopened tools sitting in his garage; his love of animals, especially his Golden Retriever, Max; but, above all, Ted’s family will remember the love and care he showed to every one of them. Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life and wife of 54 years, Judith “Carrol” Lynch; his children, Tiana Klockowski (Steve) and James R. Lynch; his grandchildren, Leah and Seneca Klockowski; sister, Mary Ellen Harbert; Aunt, Orie Ellen Sterling; and his forever faithful furry companion, Max. Preceding him in death are his parents, Ray and Mary Lou Lynch; brother, Ray Lynch; and sister-in-law, Sherry. Ted’s family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home (830 Lime City Road, Rossford, OH 43460) from 10am until departing for the cemetery at 12pm. The Northwood VFW will render military honors for their fallen brother at 12:30pm at Lake Township Cemetery in Millbury, OH, where internment will follow immediately after. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in Ted's memory be directed to the Northwood VFW.
