James F. Lechman, Sr., 70, of Fremont, Ohio, died Friday evening, July 20, 2012 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Gibsonburg, Ohio on May 19, 1942 to Fred G. and Alma E. Kaemming Lechman. Jim married Christine T. Swartz in Gibsonburg, Ohio on January 22, 2000. He was a public servant throughout his life, working in various capacities for a number of local communities. Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He also was active in his home group Bible study class. In his spare time Jim could be found fishing in his favorite spot, traveling, cooking, and rooting for his Detroit Lions! Survivors include his wife, Christine, children, Jamie Kim Lechman, Louisville, KY, Michelle Kevin Holder, Toledo, OH, Sara Mike Shields, Waterville, OH, step-children, Dale Jennifer Wisniewski, Toledo, OH, Danielle Wisniewski, Fremont, OH, and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. A celebration of Jims life will be scheduled by his family at a later date. It is suggested that contributions in memory of Jim be directed to the American Cancer Society, 740 Commerce Dr. Suite B, Perrysburg, OH 43551 or the Donors choice.
