James L. Jim Knapp

James Lee Jim Knapp, 66, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on October 15, 2018 at St. Lukes Hospital, Maumee, Ohio, after a brief illness. He was born on January 15, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of the late Clarence Knapp, Jr. and Elma Rose (Cox) Knapp. Jim graduated from Huntington High School in 1969. His entire career was spent in the newspaper business starting at the Herald Dispatch in Huntington, West Virginia. From there he ventured to Texas, New Mexico, North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland. He retired in 2015 from the Maryland Independent in LaPlata, MD and moved to Ohio to be closer to his brother. Jim enjoyed all sports and had an eclectic music and reading collection. Jim is survived by his brother John (Diane) Knapp, nephew, Jason Knapp, niece Katie Donaldson, and great nieces, Katlynn and Ariel. He also had many beloved family members in the Richmond, VA area along with friends from his newspaper family.
