James Kazmaier, 80, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born on April 7, 1938 to Robert and Eunice (Clark) Kazmaier and he married Suzanne E. Deeth on February 4, 1978 in Perrysburg. James was a 1956 graduate of Perrysburg High School and following graduation proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Jim went on to work in the family business as a grocer for Kazmaier’s Market before retiring in 1995. He was also a long time member of Zoar Lutheran Church. Jim loved to travel and took his family on many memorable vacations throughout the years. He enjoyed golf, bowling and tinkering on his 1928 Model A Ford as well as new computer technology. Jim and his wife also enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers together. Several of Jim’s favorite activities included meeting with old friends for breakfast at Charlie’s or the American Table and taking golfing trips. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and he was a loving and devoted caretaker to his wife, Suzanne. He will be greatly missed. James is survived by his loving wife, Suzanne E. Kazmaier; children, James R. (Beth) Kazmaier, II, Robert M. (Leanne) Kazmaier, Kurt A. (Mitch Garner) Kazmaier, John R. (Kimberly) Kazmaier, David M. Kazmaier and Anne E. Kazmaier; 6 grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Marda (Frank) Schramek, Janice (Walt) Studer and Diane (Doug) Mewhorter as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eunice. Friends will be received on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 2:00 to 7:00 pm in Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St, Perrysburg, OH 43551 (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Timothy P. Philabaum officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery.
