JAMES MARVIN HARTMAN James Marvin Hartman, 81, of Urbana, Illinois formerly of Tyler, TX passed away on April 12, 2009 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers disease. Jim was born March 29, 1928, in Toledo, OH, the son of Enloe M. and Catherine A. Redrup Hartman. He went to Garfield Elementary School and graduated from Waite High in 1946. Jim served in the Army as a M.P. in Korea from 1946 to 1948. He attended classes at University of Toledo. He married Jeanne C. Valade in 1951 and reared three sons and a daughter. Jim was an apprenticed die maker and design engineer before retirement. In 1968 the family moved to Galesburg, IL where they were active members of the First United Methodist Church and faithfully retained their membership for life after they moved to Tyler, TX in 1980. Jim was a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge for 55 years as well as a member of the Scottish Rite and Sharon Shrine. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Jeanne in 2005, his father Enloe in 1975, his mother Catherine in 1979, and an older brother Robert in 1987. He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark and Sherri Hartman of Galesburg, IL, Scott Hartman of Perris, CA, Eric and Susan Hartman, of Sidney, IL. He is also survived by a daughter Sandra Hartman-Neumann and son-in-law Karl Neumann of Clinton, CT; 10 grandchildren and 2 grandchildren-in-law, Neal and Kanae, Stephen, Andrew, Nicholas, Lindsey, Dylan, Adam Hartman, Kiefer and Kyle Neumann, Carolin and Martin Schneider; and 4 great-grandchildren, Kai and Riku Hartman, Anabella and Martin A. Schneider. Jim has a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and David Richards, Cape Coral, FL, a brother-in-law, William Valade, Niles, MI and a sister-in-law, Janet Valade, Toledo, OH. Visiting hours will be Friday, April 17, 2009 from 5-8 pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. in Toledo, OH where funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 18 at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Toledo Memorial Park in Toledo, OH.
