James L. Glaser, 75, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 at the Genoa Care Center & Retirement Village, Genoa, OH. He was born in Fremont, OH to Jack and Nellie (McClure) Glaser on August 6, 1945. He graduated in 1963 from Clay High School and then joined the U.S. Navy from 1963-1966. Jim was a steamfitter and a 53 year member of Local 50. Jim’s favorite thing to do was go to tractor and engine shows where he would show his quarter scale Case steam engine. Jim married the love of his life, Ruth Ann (Bennett) Glaser on December 2, 1967 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Toledo, OH, and she survives. Jim is also survived by his son, Brian Glaser, daughter, Brenda (Troy) Silveous, sister, Jill (Ted) Wierzba, his grandchildren, Nicole Glaser, Derek Glaser, Bailey LaFountain, Madison Glaser, and Kyle Glaser, brother-in-law, Robert (Judy) Bennett, sister-in-laws, Carol Miller and Joyce Glaser, daughter-in-law, Michele Glaser and nieces, Theresa, Vicki, Jennifer, Melissa, and Amy, and nephews, Scott, Thaddeus, Aaron, and Christopher. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Glaser, his parents, and brothers, Jack Glaser and Jerry Glaser. Jim was a member of the American Legion Post #114 of Oak Harbor, F.O.E., National Threshers Association, Inc., and S.C.R.A.P. Private graveside services for Jim will be conducted at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor with full military graveside rites. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Road, Perrysburg, OH 43551.
