James E. Fuelling, 83, of Temperance, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 9, 2023, with his loving family by his side. James was born in Toledo to Richard and Annabelle (Zerbe) on September 26, 1939. James was a graduate of Macomber High School. He worked for many years as a mechanic for the Toledo Public School system before retiring in 1997. In 1968, James met the love of his life, Carol Dianda, and the following year they were married. He loved fishing, camping, and spending as much time as possible with family. He recently took an Alaskan cruise with his beloved family, and it was truly the most wonderful experience for them all. James loved music and enjoyed his record collection often. He could always be found sneaking Reese’s peanut butter cups or a bowl of butter pecan ice cream. James was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing euchre. He never turned down a good Manhattan and was an excellent storyteller. His sense of humor could never be matched, and his devotion to his family will forever be remembered.
James is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Carol Fuelling; children, Toni (Greg) Parrish, Sarah (Eric) Hawkins, Jim Fuelling, Ron Fuelling, Mike Fuelling; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings-in-law, Jim (Margret) Dianda, Chuck (Kathy) Dianda, Barb (Steve) Martin, Rob (Janet) Dianda, Joe (Barb) Dianda, Annette (Lenny) Hopkins; many nieces and nephews; countless extended family members and friends; and beloved faithful cat, Ethel. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Richard Fuelling, Linda Smith; grandson, Christopher Fuelling; and daughter-in-law, Anita Fuelling.
