Sept. 27, 1922 March 22, 2011 James V. Evans, 88, of Fairfax, Virginia, formerly of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2011. Jim grew up and attended schools in the Genoa, Ohio, area. Jim worked at the Toledo docks as an electrician for the C & O Railroad for over 30 years. He was a lifetime member of the IBEW Local 18 and the Masons. He was a lifelong Christian Scientist and for many years a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Maumee, Ohio. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Eulalia Kulwicki Evans, a step daughter, Andrea Sallberg, and a granddaughter. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 14 years, Millie Schoepe Evans of Fairfax, his sister, Dorothy Nemeth of Norman, Oklahoma, and brother Tom Evans of Vicksburg, Mississippi, his four children, James W. Lynne Evans of Naples, Florida, Gail Rick Detwiler of Wentzville, Missouri, Laurie Jim Zollinger of Grand Rapids, Ohio, Amy Evans Ross Bimson, Scottsdale, Arizona, three step children, Barbara Serge Serban, Chris Mark Wright, both of Fairfax, and C.J. Schoepe of Burma, 10 grandchildren, six step grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. A memorial service for Jim will be conducted 5:30 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2011, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 204 S. Main St., Genoa, OH, 43430. Jims lifetime passion was airplanes, as he served as a pilot instructor during WWII.
