James Patrick Euting, 83, of Perrysburg, Ohio, unexpectedly passed away Friday, May 9, 2025, at home. He was born on July 31, 1941, to Jerome and Virginia (O’Connor) Euting in Kenosha, Wisconsin. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Jim spent his career at Owens-Illinois, bringing him and his family to Perrysburg in 1979.
Jim found wonderful friends and community here in Perrysburg over the decades as a member of the Perrysburg Rotary Club for many years, as well as being honored to serve as the President. He was also involved at both Carranor and Belmont Country Clubs and, most recently, a stock market club in the Hamlet and the Lagatus Catholic Organization.
Jim was an athlete who always loved to play sports. He was a catcher on his high school baseball team, a lifelong golfer, tennis player, pickleball player, and also played paddle tennis on occasion. Jim loved to travel as well, with trips spanning the globe as a part of his final work at Owens-Illinois and also in retirement.
As Jim said, he was lucky to have two wonderful women in his life. Mary Catherine (Glembocki) Euting pre-deceased Jim, passing away in 2014. Jim and Joyce Shultz-Euting were married in 2018. They were constant golfing partners, traveled to Thailand, and spent wonderful winters in various cities in Florida. Jim and Joyce lived in the Hamlet and loved this community of friends. Avid gin rummy and Rummikub players. Jim expressed gratitude and love for the woman who brought so much happiness at this time in his life.
Jim is survived by his son Jeff Euting (Jennifer Euting), and stepsons Eric, Jonathan, Nathan Shultz, daughters Denise McGee-Grimme (Brian Grimme) and Caryn Medved (Joe Medved). He also had a special relationship with his grandson Joshua McGee (fiancée Sarah Carson). They lunched each week, became golfing partners this summer.
