James E. Mcgee

James Edward McGee, age 93, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the Riverview Health Care Campus in Oak Harbor. He was born on January 26, 1930, in Genoa, Ohio to John Leslie and Merrie (Davis) McGee. On July 3, 1954, he married the love of his life, Barbara Mahler and she preceded him in death in 2021.

James was a farmer, worked at Mathews Boat Company, Gem Beach, the Eckrich Meat Company, and the Bay Township Maintenance Department. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Port Clinton and the American Legion Post 113 in Port Clinton.

He was a great carpenter by trade, enjoyed classic country music and old westerns.

James is survived by his children, James McGee, Sherry (Joseph) Garcia, Tim McGee, Patrick McGee, Debra Hare, Daniel (Erin) McGee; grandchildren, Kirby Overmyer, Nikki Johnson, Robert Garcia, Shannon Garcia, Sean Patrick McGee, Emily McGee, Katy McGee, James Hare, Joshua Hare, Anne Merrie Hare, Meara McGee, Aislinn McGee, Cavan McGee; Fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; niece, Colleen Blankenship. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, granddaughter, Melissa Dukeshire and son-in-law, Donald Hare.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at the Gerner-Wolf Walker, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, in the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, Ohio. Following the interment, all are invited back to the Eagles Lodge, 219 N. Madison Street, Port Clinton, for a light luncheon and to continue in fellowship. Memorial contributions may be directed to Immaculate Conception Church.
