James S. Duignan, 69, of Williston, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the Luther Home of Mercy where he had lived since June 16, 2005. He was born in Sandusky, Ohio on November 11, 1951, to Francis S. and Mary E. (Walrath) Duignan and was a very happy go lucky kid throughout his younger years. Jim attended the Betty Rinderle School in Sandusky until his late teens, then moving to NODC in Toledo, until his move to The Luther Home of Mercy. While a resident in Toledo, he was employed at a sheltered workshop. Growing up in Sandusky, Jim always was ready to go to the beach with his mom. He was an avid fan of Cedar Point where he loved to ride the riverboat and watch the figures along the banks of the river. Music was another of Jim’s interests especially music from the Disney movies. He also had a knack for remembering and singing many commercial jingles! Jim is survived by his loving brother, William “Bill” Duignan and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Earl Duignan. Visitation for Jim will be on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, from 9:30 AM until the service at 10:30 AM in the Luther Home of Mercy Chapel, 5810 N. Main Street, Box 187, Williston, Ohio 43468. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, Ohio. The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Luther Home of Mercy. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa, Ohio is assisting with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
