James Delbert Duffee, 87 of Toledo, passed away August 2, 2012 in the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Born May 23, 1925 in Toledo, OH to Marcus and Helen Duffee of East Toledo, Jim attended Waite High School before joining the Navy during WWII. He married Betty Marie Puls on January 10, 1948. They lived in their home, which they built, since 1954. Jim worked at the Jeep Corporation in Toledo, OH until retiring in 1986. He was a union steward and then worked on the guard force. He also worked as a sales manager at Macmillan Auto Sales for several years. Jim was a Past Master of Fort Industry Blue Lodge, Past Worthy Patron on Fort Industry Eastern Stars, a member of Fort Meigs Chapter of the Royal Arch Masons, and member of the American Legion, Holland, OH. He faithfully attended Epiphany Lutheran Church on Reynolds, Road. Jim is survived by his two children, Joyce Armstrong of Norfolk, VA and James Duffee II Ginny of Sylvania, OH; two grandchildren, April Mershon James of Hampton, VA and Amanda Duffee of Bowling Green, OH; three step-grandchildren, Michael Carin Nye, Nikki Jeremy Rippke, and Patrick Walker; and six great-grandchildren, James and Stephen Mershon, Blake and Miah Rippke, and Ryan and AJ Nye. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; and parents. Visiting Hours will be on Thursday, from 2-9:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. with a Masonic service at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 915 N. Reynolds Rd. Toledo, OH 43615. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd. Perrysburg, OH 43551 or to Epiphany Lutheran Church.
