James Patrick Dempsey Jr., age 65 of Oregon OH, passed away unexpectedly into an eternal life of joy and peace with no more pain on December 8, 2021 at Bay Park Hospital in Oregon. He was born on September 16, 1956 at Mercy Hospital in Toledo to the late James Patrick Dempsey Sr. and Lilah Dempsey. Jim was a loving brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Jim grew up in the old south end of Toledo and had all his sacraments at Immaculate Conception parish. He attended Central Catholic High School and for his senior year he switched to Waite HS, where he graduated. He married Fammy in 1977 and started a family. When Jim was young boy he was a Boy Scout and when he had sons, he became their Boy Scout leader. He volunteered a lot for the Democratic party for years, most memorably on Bill Boyle’s campaign in the 1980s. Jim worked very hard for over 25 years at TARTA as a bus driver before he retired. Jim Jr. was a resident of South Toledo the majority of his life, until he moved to Oregon, Ohio within the last 10 years to a house he called his dream home. Jim was always very proud of his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Jim was especially close to his sister Jean and he was very proud of his Irish and German heritage. He had a love for good coffee, especially Tim Horton’s, good jokes, and loved taking his family to places that brought him joy and peace. He had an amazing memory and loved telling his detailed stories. Jim liked reminiscing about the “good old days” and watching reruns of old TV shows and old movies from his younger years. Jim is preceeded in death by his parents, James Patrick Dempsey Sr. and Lilah Dempsey. Those left to cherish Jim’s memory are: his wife of almost 45 years, Euphemia “Fammy” Dempsey, his three adult children, Mishael (Tommy Naegle) Dempsey, James Patrick Dempsey III, and Elijah Sean Dempsey. Also surviving are his 13 grandchildren who were the light of Jim’s life: Benjamin (Nicole), Devon, Ethan, Skylar, Ezekial, Tristan, Natalie, Briahna, Dominic, Nathan, Nevada, James Patrick IV, and Jonah. Jim is also survived by his only sibling, Jean (Walter) Cornell, and Godchildren/nephew and niece: Chris (Ann) Cornell and Kathleen Cornell.
