James Big Jim H. Daniels, 80, of Oak Harbor, died Saturday, April 28, 2018, at H.B. Magruder, Port Clinton. Jim was born March 25, 1938, in Briceville, Tennessee, to James W. and Pauline (Burris) Daniels. On June 22, 1986, in Oak Harbor he married Judy Phillips and she survives. Jim drove truck for Blatt Trucking in Rocky Ridge. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW in Port Clinton and the Moose in Port Clinton. Big Jim loved fishing at the front of his house, which sat near the river. He also loved watching baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds. In addition to his wife, Judy, Jim is survived by his children, James (Jamie) Daniels and Rebecca (James) West; grandchildren, Christopher Collins and Melinda Box; sister, Barbara Chitwood; step sons, Richard (Lita) Traver, Michael (Lori) Traver, Kenneth (Sharon) Traver and Mark Traver, as well as many step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Sonny Hickman, and sisters, Mary Rosko, Patsy Salmza, Nancy Young and Janie Sue Barrow. There will be no services, and cremation has taken place under the care of the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Jim may be made to the family.
