James Gerald Chambers, 69, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017, suddenly at home. He was born on July 16, 1947, in Toledo, Ohio. Jim was a 1965 graduate of Genoa High School. He played baseball his senior year of high school and played baseball during the summer for Genoa Bank. For many years Jim played pool on the Hour Glass league and won many trophies. He loved his Chrysler convertible and his motorcycle, but you could always see him walking around Genoa and to Woodville and Burger King. He also loved the New York Yankees and watching old television shows. Jim worked at Bell and Howell in Chicago and Libbey-Owens in Rossford and had served in the United States Marine Corps. Jim is survived by his mother, Eunice Chambers, sisters, Gail (Kent) Whitman, Wendy Chambers, Denise (Scott) Schimming and Gwen (Scott) Ellithorpe, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Chambers, sister, Lori Strauss, brother, Mark Chambers, and grandparents, Carl and Luella Haar and Benjamin and Margaret Chambers. Family and friends may visit 4-8 p.m., Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 24, 2017, in the chapel at St. Johns United Church of Christ, Genoa, with interment to follow in Clay Township Cemetery.
