James R. Burr

James R. Burr, 61, of Graytown, died in his residence late Thursday evening, January 1, 2009. He was born June 15, 1947, in Fremont, Ohio, to Irvin and Nettie Custer Burr. In 2007 he retired from security at Davis Bessie Nuclear Power Plant in Oak Harbor after 29 years. Jim was an Ohio State fan and enjoyed spending time at home with his family. Jim is survived by his sons, Mr. Mrs. Gary Burr of Bryan and Mr. Mrs. Brian Burr of Perrysburg; six grandchildren; sisters, Bessie Becky Hillard of Elmore, Shirley Justice Riley of Lynn, MO, Billie Joe Madison of Bettsville, brother, Wayne Donna Burr of Williston; and former wife, Christine Burr of Oak Harbor. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Donald Burr, sister, Velma Heishmen, and infant sister, Esther. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2009, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor. Private family services will take place at a later date with interment in Limestone Cemetery, Graytown. Memorials for James may be directed to the Ottawa County Humane Society.
