Jacqulyn Rose Navarre, age 89 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by family May 13, 2017 at Lakes of Monclova. Jacqulyn was born in Erie, Michigan to Arnold and Helen LaPointe. She was a 1945 graduate of Toledo Central Catholic High School. She received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. Jacqulyn worked as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Hospital in Toledo where she met her husband, Dr. J. Robert Navarre. They married in 1949 and together they raised 10 children in West Toledo. They were married for 49 years until Dr. Navarre’s death in 1999. Together they were world travelers, having adventured throughout the USA as well as Europe and Asia. A woman of endless energy, Jackie played an active role in her children and grandchildren’s lives. She attended Children’s Masses, school functions and their many activities. She filled the holidays and weekends with countless family get-togethers, always with fun, food and laughter. There was always room for one, or many, more at her table! Jacqulyn was a member of Gesu Catholic Church and Little Flower Catholic Parish. It would be an understatement to say that she played an integral role in the lives of each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many of their friends as well! Surviving are her children, Dr. Robert (Ellen) Navarre, Michelle (Robert) Minyard, Denise (Stuart) Cubbon, John (Harriett) Navarre, Raymond Navarre, Renee (Michael) Bruno, Annette (Robert) Heckman, Phillip (Katherine) Navarre, Monique Navarre, James (Debra) Navarre and many additional family members and cherished friends, including 30 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren (and three more on the way.) She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. J. Robert Navarre, infant son Peter, sister Joan (William) McClain, and brother-in-law Raymond Navarre. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at Little Flower Parish, 5562 Dorr St., Toledo, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. A funeral luncheon for friends and family will follow at noon at The Toledo Club, 235 14th Street, Toledo. The family would like to thank the staffs at the Sunset Manor House and Lakes of Monclova for their kindness and loving care to Jackie. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Mom’s House, 2505 Franklin Ave., Toledo, OH 43610, or a charity of the donor’s choice are suggested.
