Jacquelyn Jackie House

February 23, 1953 — June 11, 2015

Late in the evening of the 11th of June, Jackie House passed away. Jackie had been ill with a respiratory infection and had been taking medication for it as she had many times before. No one suspected that this infection was life-threatening. Her death was completely unexpected, and the loss has stunned the House family. Jackie devoted her life to a very few, but very important things. Jackies family was always her top priority and nothing made her happier than the days she spent watching and playing with her beloved grandchildren. Through baseball games and Grammy John and Evan days, she delighted in everything they did and was so grateful to have met her newest grandson, Nathaniel. She was very proud of her children, Kelly and Aaron, and the adults they had become. She spent many vacations traveling to the beaches of North Carolina and the mountains of West Virginia with her husband, Mike, and as many family and friends as she was able. She and Mike also traveled the world, visiting Hong Kong, Switzerland, Germany, England, France and Hawaii, where she was born. Jackie spent over 20 years teaching music to high school and elementary students in the Toledo Public Schools, first as the band director at Waite High School, then as a music teacher at Garfield Elementary. She truly believed that music made the world a better place and that it enriched the lives of everyone it touched. She retired from teaching this year, but was very happy to have shared her love of music with so many students. Jackie had a lot of love to give, and her kindness made an imprint on everyone she touched. She will be deeply missed by her family and all that knew and loved her. In addition to her husband, Michael, Jackie is survived by her children, Kelly S. (James) Schuck of Perrysburg, OH, and Aaron M. House of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, John D. Schuck, Evan M. Schuck and Nathaniel D. Schuck; and sister, Judith (Michael) Harper of Columbus, OH. Her parents preceded her in death. Visitation and the funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be directed to Mercy-St. Vincent Childrens Hospital, 2213 Cherry St., Toledo, OH 43608; or Lutheran Ministries of Mercy, P.O. Box 187, Williston, OH 43468. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH, 43430, has assisted the family with arrangements.
