Jacqueline Rose Wagener

August 7, 1935 — May 13, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jacqueline Rose Wagener, of Maumee, Ohio, who left us suddenly on May 13, 2025.

Born on August 7, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio, Jacque was the daughter of Raymond H. and Dorothy Hilton Taylor. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of nearly 67 years, Thomas Sr., and her loving son, Terrance Richard.

Jacque is survived by her six children, Kathy (Fred) Krout, Karen (John Columber) Graven, Tom Jr. (Jolyn), Kelly (Rick) Pickard, Kris (Sean) Murphy, Kay (Jeff) Bock, daughter- in-law Kim Wagener; sixteen grandchildren, Jessica, Zach, Scott, Kirk, Bryce, Jenna, Tony, Nick, Kate, Mallori, Lexi, Spencer, Layne, Noah, Gabe and Paige; twenty-three great-grandchildren, Konnor, Libby, Will, Zane, Stella, Evelyn, Fred, Frank, Leo, Faye, Andy, Emma, Terrance, Eleanor, June, Lucy, Finn, Callahan, Harrison, Pennrose, Marcella, Makenzie, Jesse; her three remaining siblings, Shirley, Beth and Jon along with her brother-in-law, Jim Wagener. Her memory will also be cherished by many nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of friends.

Jacque led a life devoted to her family. In addition to raising seven children and maintaining a vibrant and loving household, she worked for the City of Maumee from 1955 until she retired in 2010, having dedicated an incredible 55 years of service.

When we remember Jacque we think of her quiet, generous love and the way she shared her skills with others; her phenomenal cake decorating with the trimmings and extra buttercream frosting always up for grabs; her famous chocolate chip cookies; her meticulous sewing skills – always with a needle and thread ready in her purse – and the pile of clothes we left on her sewing machine waiting to be mended; her weekly casino trips and her daily pick three of 810; her meticulous attention to detail, especially when it involved finances; hiding her good candy from the grandkids; weekly Frosties from Wendy’s; a Beanie Baby for every holiday; her perfect, dainty handwriting; a lifelong refusal to drive on the highway; butter and jelly packets - and maybe a few biscuits - tucked into her purse after large family breakfasts; her mastery of word, number, and jigsaw puzzles - and her delight when her great-grandchildren helped her find a missing piece; tending flowers on her terrace and sitting in a chair watching her evening primrose bloom; watching the Game Show Network at full volume; tagging along with Grandpa to cheer on a grandchild’s team; and her dry sense of humor.

She will be missed by all who knew her and the memories she gave us will be passed on for years to come.

“Love you.” “Thank you.”
