Jacqueline Ann Frank

November 21, 1935 — August 21, 2016

Jacqueline Ann Frank, 80, of Mansfield, passed away on August 21, 2016, in Perrysburg, Ohio. She was born on November 21, 1935 to Edward and Hilda Wyllie. Jackie graduated from Mansfield Sr. High School in 1953. She worked at Mansfield Tire for 4 years. She stayed at home for a while to begin raising her 2 boys and then rejoined the working world as a Secretary at Madison Comprehensive High School. She spent 28 years at Madison and made many lifelong friends, both young and old. Her sons and their friends especially enjoyed having a “connection” in the office although it also added a bit of pressure to avoid the wrath of “mom”. Jackie married Gene Frank on Feb. 11, 1956, and shared 58 loving, wonderful years together until his death in 2014. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and served a number of years in the choir, taught Sunday school and also served as a greeter and usher. She especially enjoyed the crew at the 8:30 Sunday morning service and the family will be forever grateful for the support and friendship that they provided including the last month during her illness. “Grammy”, as she was known to many, adored her 2 grandsons, Michael and Nicholas, and followed them in their many athletic adventures over the years. Many people were always surprised at her love of sports and knowledge of them. Jackie and Gene always welcomed friends of the boys into their house and she always loved watching how they all grew up and she followed their growing families over the years. She became a second mom or grammy to a large contingent of people over the years. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis. She always loved supporting his success in bowling and golf over the years and he brought her much joy during his much too short life. Jackie was also preceded in death by her father, Edward Wyllie, her mother Hilda Wyllie, her brother and sister-in-law Robert and Glenna Wyllie and brother Alan Wyllie. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Susan Frank. Susan became the daughter she never had and enjoyed spending as much time with her as possible to get a break from all the “guy” time. Also surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Marge and Don Heiser, brother Gordon Wyllie, brother and sister-in-law Stan and Linda Wyllie, sister-in-law Norma Zody and Gaylord Zody, numerous nieces and nephews, and very special friends Mike and Brenda Schwamberger, Lee and Carrie Au, and Mike and Evelyn Lee. The family would especially like to thank the nurses and caregivers at St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Clare Commons, and Hospice of Northwest Ohio. There will be a memorial service at Wappners Funeral Home in Mansfield, OH on Saturday, August 27 at 4:00 p.m. Following a memorial visitation from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to either First United Methodist Church on the Square in Mansfield, OH or to the American Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg, Ohio.
