Jack Andrew Sweede

Jack Andrew Sweede, 82, of Perrysburg, OH died, Monday, March 19, 2012. He was born in Rossford, OH on December 26, 1929 to Andrew Jackson and Emma (Rinker) Sweede and was married in Bowling Green, OH on February 4, 1956 to June E. Wright. Jack was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War receiving a Purple Heart, and worked as a self-employed salesman for over 25 years. He was instrumental in organizing the Perrysburg VFW and was a member of the Perrysburg American Legion Post. Jack was always involved in Perrysburg community functions, and his other activities included being a baseball coach and park officer. He is survived by his wife, June E. of Perrysburg, OH; sons, Jack Andrew II “Jake” (Gina) Sweede of N. Prairie, WI, Jase William (Kristin) Sweede of Toledo, OH, Jay Rinker (Shelli) Sweede of Wapakoneta, OH, and Jon David (RaeRae) Sweede of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Allison Rose “Allie” Sweede, Jennifer Elizabeth “Jennie” Sweede, Tanner Charles “Charlie” Sweede, Taylor Gus Taylor, Madison June Sweede; nephews, Stephen S. Sweede and Robert :Sonny” Sweede; niece, Tonni E. Morrison; special friend, Kenneth Reed. He was preceded in death by both parents, brother, Robert S. Sweede, sister, Rachel Adcox and niece, Linda Sweede. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Friday, March 23, 2012 in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133). Visitation will continue after 12 noon on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Second St., Perrysburg, OH 43551 where funeral services will be at 1 P.M. with Pastor Gary Rode officiating. Burial will be in Fort Meigs Cemetery.
