Jack Richard Strantz, 87, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018. Jack was born on September 9, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to Ruth and John Strantz. Jack graduated from Springfield High School and served in the Korean War. He spent most of his career in the wholesale building products industry and continued to work part-time until just recently. Jack was an excellent carpenter and spent many hours in his workshop designing and building everything from furniture to jewelry boxes. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing immensely. He was also passionate about music and gardening. He was fortunate to spend 64 years with the love of his life, Jan, who passed away just last year. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Strantz) Baugh, granddaughters, Dana (Strantz) Heffner, Andrea Strantz, Kyle Baugh and Gabby Baugh, great grandson, Michael Bradwell (Wells) Hefner and sister Donna (Strantz) Swavely. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Janice (Jan) Strantz and son, Michael J Strantz. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 5, at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave., from 4-8 p.m. Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 6 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1930 Bradner Rd., Northwood, OH 43619. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church where Jack and Jan were the first 2 members of the church. Arrangements by Walker Funeral Home, Toledo.
