Jack L. Kohlhofer

Jack L. Kohlhofer, 84, of Walbridge, Ohio, died Saturday, July 25, 2015. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 28, 1931 to Andrew and Lorene (Pohlman) Kohlhofer. He attended Waite High School and married Peggy M. Lanham on May 26, 1956 at the First Congregational Church in Sylvania, Ohio. Jack was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served his country in Korea. He worked for 35 years as an electrician’s helper at the Libbey-Owens-Ford Company, as well as ran his own roofing business, 3-M Roofing, which he named after his sons. He then retired and drove for a trucking company part time. Jack was very active in the Walbridge VFW Post #9963, the American Legion Arthur Daly Post #3347, Port Lawrence Lodge #685, and the Scottish Rite 32nd Degree. He was also a member of the Zenobia Shrine, the Valley of Toledo and the Toledo Swiss Society. Jack is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Matthew (Alicia) Kohlhofer, Merle Kohlhofer, Mark Kohlhofer, Michael (Deanna) Kohlhofer, Howard (Linda) Lanham, and Carol; grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan and Gavin Kohlhofer; great-grandchild, Addison Kohlhofer; step-grandchild, Anastasia (John) Willey; step great-grandchildren, Bresdon and Auray Willey; and siblings, Andrew (Beverly) Kohlhofer and Janet Thompson. Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main Street, Walbridge, Ohio (419-666-3121), with full Military Honors taking place at 7:00 P.M. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mainstreet Church or the Walbridge VFW Post #9963.
