Jack E. Hollabaugh

Born to George W. (Fox) and Winifred (Peggy) (Agner) Hollabaugh January 20, 1920 in Leipsic, Ohio. He was 96. Jack peacefully slipped from this world to the next with son, Phillip and daughter, Patricia by his side December 31, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Jack attended Waite High School. He and his five brothers, Robert, Richard, James, George, and Byron, proudly served their country in the U.S. Army; the brothers all returned home, whereas Jack was captured in Tunisia, Africa and remained a Prisoner of War until Allied Forces liberated in 1945. Jack was in the Rainbow Division. Jack worked as Manager in the furniture business for many years. Jack was preceded in death by infant son, David Eugene; parents, George and Peggy; five brothers; mother of his children and wife, Bertha Elizabeth (Lenhart); second wife, Margarette Alice (Yeager). Jack frequented the donut shop, played golf at Chippewa, and enjoyed yardwork. Jack traveled to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan often with Berle Chesher, his longtime companion. Surviving Jack is his son, Phillip Eugene (Sandra) of Tarpon Spring, FL; Phillip’s daughters, Kimberly, Michelle, Jaimie, Heidi; daughter, Patricia Elizabeth (Clifford) Fosgate of Perrysburg, OH; Patricia’s daughters, Melissa, Jaclyn, and Samantha. Jack also leaves behind many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jack will be deeply missed. Jack will lay and rest in Lake Township Cemetery next to his beloved Margarette. There will be a Celebration of Life on June 17, 2017 with time and place to be determined. Contributions in honor of Jack may be made to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, Nebraska 68010.
