Jack A. Emmitt
Jack A. Emmitt, 82, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home on January 21, 2026.
Jack was born on June 14, 1943, to Alvin and Naiomi Emmitt. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1962 and went on to build a long and dedicated career as a heavy machine operator at Libbey-Owens-Ford, where he worked for over 35 years. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family.
On July 16, 1966, Jack married the love of his life, Cheryl A. (Piorkowski) Emmitt. Together they raised five children and built a life grounded in love, hard work, and laughter.
Jack was truly a master of all trades and the go-to man for sound advice. He loved anything with an engine and thoroughly enjoyed his "toys"-sports cars, motorcycles, and boats. Whether he was fixing up cars or tackling any project that needed attention, Jack was always happiest working with his hands. His family fondly remembers his funny phrases and unique ways of describing things, which never failed to make them laugh.
Above all else, Jack loved his family deeply. He took great joy in attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and being present for the moments that mattered most. His strength, wisdom, and unwavering support will be forever cherished.
Jack is survived by his children: Kelly A. Emmitt-Gillingham, Kathy A. Emmitt-Killy, Christopher D. (Michelle) Emmitt, Kerry A. (Chris) Emmitt-Healy, and Jonathan M. (Jennifer Coy) Emmitt; grandchildren Amanda, Ashley, Dominic, Zachary, Hunter, Logan, Toryn, Mason, Kennedy, and Avery; great-grandchildren Chloe, Carter, Coda, Paisley, and Oliver; and his beloved fur baby, Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Cheryl; his parents, Alvin and Naiomi Emmitt; his sister, Sandra; his father- and mother-in-law, Walter and Gertrude; and his brother- and sister-in-law, Richard and Marlene.
Jack's legacy of love, hard work, and devotion to family will live on through all who were blessed to know him.
Friends will be received at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, Rossford (830 Lime City Rd) on Wednesday January 28, 2026 from 2-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday January 29th at St. Rose Catholic Church, Perrysburg at 1030 AM followed by burial at Lake Twp. Cemetery, Millbury.
