Jack D. Allred, Jr., 63, of Martin, Ohio, died Monday morning, November 14, 2011, in the Genoa Retirement Village. He was born May 6, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, to Jack D., Sr. and Ethel J. Miller Allred. On April 23, 1970, in Monroe, Michigan, he married Claudette J. Phillips and she survives. Jack retired in 1992 as a conductor for Norfolk Southern Railroad after 32 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #537 and V.F.W. Post #9816. He had also been a member of the Genoa Kiwanis. In addition to his wife, Claudette, Jack is survived by his sons, Jack D. Julie Allred III, Vance W. Allred and Darrik T. Allred, three grandsons, Micah Timothy Schumer Allred, Jack D. Allred IV and Kean Allred and one granddaughter, Ashley Channel Allred. He is also survived by his father, Jack D. Allred, Sr., brother, Gary Allred, and sisters, Rene Miller, Sandra Mauter, Margie Bell and Regina Vincent. His mother and brother, Robert Lee, preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2011, at St. Peter Lutheran Church Blackberry, Martin. Memorials for Jack may be given to the family. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory of Genoa has assisted the family with arrangements.
