J Robert Rennert

J. Robert Bob Rennert age 83 of Sylvania passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 at Sunset Village. He was born July 14, 1932 in Continental, Ohio to Edmund and Eva (Schwartz) Rennert. He was a graduate of the former Olney High School now Northwood High School. Bob married the former Mary JoAnn Miller on April 14, 1951. He was employed by Johns-Manville in Defiance, Ohio as a Quality Control Manager retiring in 1984. After retirement, he became the business manager for St. Marys Catholic Church in Defiance. He and JoAnn returned to Toledo in 2000. He lived a wonderful retirement spending it with family, friends and traveling. Bob was also a member of Little Flower Parish where he was active in the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He will be remembered as having a great sense of humor, compassion for others and wisdom. Bob was preceded in death by his son-in-law Jamie Rowe; daughter-in-law Dee Rennert; brothers Aldea Rennert and William Rennert; sisters Lillian Brancheau, Wanda Moran and Jane Coy; and an infant brother. He is survived by his wife of over 64 years, JoAnn; son Robert J. (Mary Beth) Rennert; daughters Mary Jo (Roger) Gremling, Susan (John Finley) Rowe-Finley and Elizabeth Beth (David) Hook; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother Richard Rennert; and sisters Adeline Bland and Mary Jean Rosin. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Tuesday from 3-7 PM where a Scripture Service will be held at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue Wednesday at Little Flower Catholic Church 5522 Dorr St. Toledo, Oh 43615 after 10 AM where the Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be private.
