Iva May Levally

Iva May LeVally, age 87, of Temperance died at 8:45 PM Thursday April 1. 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She had been in poor health for the past year and seriously ill for the past week. She made her home at Luther Haus Senior Living for the last 14 years. She enjoyed many loving friendships there. Born August 20, 1922 in Stamford, New York, she moved to the Toledo area as a child. She was the daughter of Charles Grant and Alice Spickerman Grant. She was preceded in death by her three brothers and two sisters. She married William Pershing LeVally of Toledo in 1938. He died in 1974. From that union they had three children, William Charles Mary LeVally, Linda Lee Gary Beyersdorf, and Vickie Lynn James Chytil. She also is survived by her five granddaughters and one grandson, Carrie Mark Pinski, Deanna Beyersdorf, Cheryl James Corbett, Julia Brian Hayes, Rachel Chytil, and William E. LeVally. They blessed her with 10 great grandchildren, Sarah Pinksi, JoLynn Pinski, Mark Pinksi, and Tara LeVally, William M. LeVally, Michael Cline, Daniel Cline, Christine Cline, Adam Corbett and Eric Corbett. She was a past member and volunteer of the Womens WWII Auxiliary, Toledo Area Girls Scouts, Boys Scouts of America, and the Rainbow Girls daughters of the Master Masons. She was also a member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Toledo. For numerous years, she bowled in the Toledo area single and family leagues. Iva was an avid reader and loved to fish, sew and crochet for her family. Watching professional golf and baseball on T.V. were two sports she loved to follow when she wasnt playing cards or bingo with her friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Being called Grandma Cookie and Grandma Ally by her great grandchildren always brought joy to her day. Friends may visit the family on Monday from 11:00 AM-9:00 PM and Tuesday from 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd where services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM.
