Isabel F. Martin

Isabel F. Martin age 92 of Maumee passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010 in her home. Isabel was born in Canton, OH to Charles and Pearle Barrett Fye on February 4, 1918. Isabel was a buyer for the former Lamsons Department Store which helped pay for her tuition at the University of Toledo where she received a Bachelor of Sociology. She was a volunteer for the Community Chest which later became the United Way, where Isabel served as a Consultant. Isabel was an advisor for Chi Omega Sorority at the University of Toledo for 29 years. She was selected outstanding Chi Omega in the State of Ohio. Isabel was the first woman elected to the Major Corp Board of Toledo Edison. She and her husband Earl was a founding member of Indian Hill Boat Club and a member of Belmont Country Club. Isabel was a Trustee and served on the executive committee at the South Toledo YMCA. She was involved with Maumee Valley Girl Scouts and served as a Board Member and was also on the nominating committee. Isabel was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Maumee. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Rohs of Loveland, OH; Nancy Leonard Martin Schneider of Maumee, OH and Linda Martin of Blanchester, OH; grandchildren, Ronald Therese Schneider, Andrew Schneider, Laura John Hoevener and Todd Katie Rohs; great grandchildren, Melinda Schneider, Lauren Schneider, Daniel Hoevener, Anna Hoevener, Morgan Hoevener, Harrison and Camilla Rohs; and special friends, Jill Girard and Renee Murphy. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl M. Martin; parents; son-in-law, Donald Rohs and brother, Harold A. Fye. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 2, 2010 at 11:30 am at First Presbyterian Church, 200 East Broadway St., Maumee, OH.
