Irma Howell, 63, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, Port Clinton, OH, following a valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Irma was born on June 14, 1949 in Alamo, TX, the daughter of Manuel and Flavia Cavazos Rodriguez. In 1971, she married Richard Howell and he survives. Irma attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1968. After graduating she worked at Jimmy Johns and Cheesehaven. Irma was the hostess at the Ottawa Shooting Club where Richard was the manager for many years. Later on she ran Irmas Restaurant at Camp Perry for a few years. She loved cooking and having people enjoy her excellent meals, her food was always delicious. Irma and Richard raised two boys, Phillip and Clifford. She enjoyed working in the garden, canning its produce and sharing with family and friends. Irma was a caring, loving, compassionate person, who always had a joke or a story to tell to make everyone laugh. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Loving Husband of 42 years: Richard Howell; Sons: Phillip Howell and Clifford Amy Howell; Grandchildren: Alexis, Gabriel and Lilliana; Sisters: Mary Gary Jones, EliaMar Bob Meeks, Raquel Massie; Brothers: Leonardo Rodriguez, John Rodriguez and Roberto Rodriguez and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews and cousins. Irma was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Manuel Louie Rodriguez Jr. and sister: Esther Rodriguez. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8PM, Thursday, May 30, 2013, in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, OH, where family prayers will be at 10:00AM, Friday, May 31, 2013, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial conducted by Father John Missler at 10:30AM, Friday, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Irma may be given to the family.
