Irene E. Hansen Roder-Goeckerman

Irene E. Hansen Roder-Goeckerman, 95, of Catawba Island passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, OH. She was born on November 12, 1914 in Lucas County, OH, the daughter of Ferdinand and Anna Kunkel Hansen. Irene worked as a homemaker. In 1934 she married her first husband, Ralph F. Roder and he preceded her in death in 1981. In 1987 she married her second husband, Norval Goeckerman and he preceded her in death in 1997. Irene was a charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and a past member of the women of the church group. She loved sewing, cooking and gardening. Irene will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Special thanks to Caregiver, Linda Borows and Stein Hospice. Survivors include: Children: Herbert Jacqueline Roder of Catawba Island, Roland Darlene Roder of Catawba Island, Dennis Roder of Dallas, TX, Joan William Crawford of Castalia, OH and Kenneth Chavela Graves Roder of Catawba Island; 10 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great Grandchildren; Sister: Glenice Cole of Millbury, OH; Sister-In-Law: Arlene Hansen of Lyons, OH; many loving Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, second husband, sister: Florence Weddell and brother: Merlyn Hansen. Visitation will be from 2-4 6-8, Thursday, November 19, 2009, in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Kurt Borows Jr. at 11:00AM, Friday, November 20, 2009 in Resurrection Lutheran Church, Catawba Island. Interment will be in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown, OH.
