Irene S Mcknight

Irene McKnight, age 84, of Perrysburg, OH died on Friday, March 14, 2014 at St. Lukes Hospital. She was born on March 2, 1930 in Johnstown, PA to Michael and Anna Ucianoski Shimko. She married John L. McKnight on January 29, 1949. Irene and John were the owners and operators of the former Shamrock Inn and McKnights Deli and Cafe in Perrysburg, OH. She was a long time member of St. Rose Parish and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and traveling. Irene enjoyed music and was a big fan of Daniel ODonnell. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Irene is survived by her children, Ronald P.; John E., and Karen Mike Shroyer of Perrysburg; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Slachta and Anne Chanda. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John L.; and brothers, Peter and Steve Shimko. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio, on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home with prayers at 9:30 AM on Thursday, March 20, 2014 followed by the Funeral Mass at St. Rose Catholic Parish, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, Ohio at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at St. Rose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose Parish.
