Irene Hopson, daughter of the late Carmack Hopson Sr. and Maggie Young Hopson was born on September 4, 1943, in Crawfordsville, Arkansas. She departed this life on September 25, 2022.
Irene worked for many years for the State of Ohio. After retiring, she enjoyed planting and nurturing her flower garden, making checkup calls on family members and talking and laughing with neighbors and friends. She always greeted you with a big smile.
At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Irene joined the Calvary Church in 2005 and was an active member until she could no longer attend services.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carmack Hopson Sr. and Maggie Young Hopson, brothers Carmack Hopson Jr. and Arthur John Calhoun and sister, LaVerne Hopson Garcia.
She leaves to cherish her memory a sister-in-law, Brunetta Hopson, nieces and nephews William D. (Mary) Garcia, Yvonne Hopson, Elaine (Larry) Elmore, Carmack (Stephanie) Hopson III, Perry Hopson, Dennis (fiancé Lazonya) Hopson, Renee Sims, dear cousins Regina Thompson and Diane (Daryl) Lewis and a host of close family members and friends.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Chapel of Peace, Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania, OH 43560, (419) 882-7151. A Memorial Gathering will be held at 10:30 a.m. and the Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
