Irene V Hofacker

Irene V. Hofacker, 93, of Lacarne, OH, passed away, Friday, February 27, 2015 at her residence. Irene was born on December 18, 1921 in Fremont, OH, the daughter of Detrick and Viola (Eybsen) Bergman. On August 09, 1941 in Bowling Green, OH, she married Russell Hofacker and he preceded her in death. She retired from U.S. Gypsum. Irene was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH. She was a member of the David W. Leonard Aerie #2295 Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Homer D. Gardner Post #2480 Auxiliary, both of Port Clinton. Irene enjoyed doing cross stitch and vacationing. But most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Irene will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Son: David (Betty King) Hofacker of Port Clinton; Daughters: Sharon (Clifford) Fields of Kingsport, TN and Rebecca Shortridge of Lacarne; Son-in-law: Keith Grimm; Sister-in-Law: Lael Bergman; 34 Grandchildren; 58 Great-Grandchildren and 17 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, daughters: Barbara (Ray) White, Lavone (William) Silverwood and Debra Grimm, son-in-law: Lawrence Shortridge. A Graveside service will be held in the spring. Memorial donations in memory of Irene may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
