Irene L. Faoiz

Irene L. Faoiz, 87, of Woodville, died Thursday, March 25, 2010, in Mercy-St. Charles Hospital, Oregon. Irene was born September 9, 1922, in Toledo, Ohio, to Stanley and Janina Kwiakowska Radzinski. On April 19, 1945, in Huntsville, Alabama, she married James F. Faoiz, who preceded her in death. Irene attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa. She was a member of the VFW and the Eagles in Hudson, Florida, and the Library Guild in Woodville. She enjoyed going to the pool at St. Charles Hospital to swim. Irene had a variety of jobs: she worked in a shrimp factory, as well as other factory jobs; she gave tours of homes in Florida; worked at Toledo University serving the girls on the college campus; and she worked at the former Mercy Hospital for many years. She was the sole health care provider to all her brothers and sisters. Irene was a role model mother to her daughter. She moved from Florida in 1998 to be with her daughter, three grandchildren, and her almost nine great grandchildren. Irene enjoyed people and conversing with them and will be missed a lot by her many, many friends. Her survivors include her daughter, Georgiana Mae James Myers of Woodville, grandson, Jeff Carolyn Myers of Gibsonburg, granddaughters, Jenny Bob Stang of Gibsonburg and Julie John Horn of Millbury; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Adam, Billy, Thadeus and Daniel Radzinski, sisters, Josephine and Eva Niedzwich, and Stella Palmer. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa. A scripture service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening. The Funeral Mass will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2010, in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Genoa, with burial to follow in Westwood Cemetery in Woodville.
