Irene M. Brezinski, 83, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Parkcliffe Community surrounded by love. She was born on April 10, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio to Walter and Jenie Grabarski. She married the love of her life, David Brezinski on June 29, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio. Irene attended Central Catholic High School graduating in 1945, where she was active in the drama department, operettas, the Girls Athletic League and served as Co-Editor of the yearbook, Centripetal and Senior Class Officer. She belonged to several clubs and guilds including, the Monogram Club, the Central Catholic Guild of Honor and the St. Helda Guild. Before Marriage she worked as an Executive Secretary for Owens Illinois. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Sodality, the WLBC, the OnIzed Club and the Brandywine Country Club. She was an accomplished seamstress as well as an accomplished golfer, once hitting a hole in one! Irene is survived by her sons, Stephen (Julie) Brezinski of Westerville, OH., Andrew (Melissa) Brezinski of Madison, AL., and Thomas Brezinski of Perrysburg, OH.; grandchildren, Kevin, Kyle, Kendall, Klaire and Olivia; and sister, Alice (Roman) Wilczynski of Toledo, OH. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Jenie Grabarski, her husband, David and her son, John Brezinski. Friends and family will be received Monday, September 12, 2011 from 4-8 PM with a scripture service at 7 PM in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH. 43551 (419-874-3133) Prayers will be held at 9:45 AM on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the funeral home, with A Mass to follow at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St., Perrysburg, OH., at 10:30 AM. Burial will be private. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Rose Catholic Church, Central Catholic High School and Independent Senior Hospice. A Special thanks to the staff of Parkcliffe Commuinty and Independent Senior Hospice for their love and support.
