Ilo F. Roper, 86, a lifelong Woodville, OH resident, passed away on November 20, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Woodville on February 3, 1925 to William G. Ethel G. Uthoff. She married John H. Roper in Toledo, Ohio on March 5, 1945 and he preceded her in death. Ilo was a 1945 graduate of the Flower Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for a number of Physicians over the years starting with Dr. Carroll in Toledo, Drs. Walker and Grubaugh in Woodville, Dr. Newman of Fremont, and finally for Dr. Duane Sander in Woodville. Ilo was a member of the Woodville United Methodist Church and during her free time she enjoyed dancing at the former West Chester Dance Club of Toledo. She was also a member of the Flower Hospital Alumni Assoc., the O.E.S. of Elmore, OH, and the Maumee Eagles Club. Ilo is survived by her daughters, Carol Bruce May of Upper Arlington, OH and Kim Roper-Van Vorst of Woodville, grandchildren, Alex, Nate, and Kim, sister, Wilma Watson of Toledo, OH and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Bud Rohtert. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 1 PM in the Woodville United Methodist Church, 201 W. First St., Woodville, OH, 43469. Interment will be in the Westwood Cemetery, Woodville at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials, in Ilos name, to the church. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH, 43430 is assisting the family with arrangements.
