Ila Stephens

Ila Stephens, 85, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, OH, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 18, 1930 in Oil Springs, KY, the daughter of John L. and Rora (Saylor) Trent. On October 26, 1946, she married Clayton Stephens; he preceded her in death in 1984. Ila worked for Standard Products and for Chrysler Automotive, retiring in 1985. Ila loved her family, in addition to raising her daughters, she raised her siblings, Pricalla, Alta, Tracy and Bill. She enjoyed quilting and was a very active member of the Port Clinton Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory are: Daughters: Patricia Hofacker & Delorse “Kay” Hofacker: Sisters: Aliene (Dinzel) Stephens, Pracilla Lorensen; Brothers: Tracy (Beverly) Trent & Bill Trent; Grandchildren: Clayton Hofacker & Ila-Catherine “Katie” Hofacker; Great-Grandchildren: Rachelle Hofacker, Jessica Hofacker & Oliver Klinker. Ila was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Mattie Lee Gebhardt, Mavis Edwards, Magdaline Boie, Mila Stephens, Wanda F. Neuman, Alta Mae Trent, brother: Dale Trent and grandson: Alfred Allen Kennedy II. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8PM, Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Harry Hunt & Deacon Rudy Polk at 11:00AM, Monday, May 16, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Ila can be given to the Bay Twp. Fire Dept. or Stein Hospice.
