Ila June Leyda

Ila June Leyda, 85, of Waterville, OH, passed away peacefully at her home on November 22, 2024. Born on July 13, 1939, in Cape Vincent, NY, June lived a full and vibrant life.

In February of 1962, June married the love of her life, Earl H. Leyda. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared many wonderful years until Earl’s passing. June and Earl made homes in Cape Coral, FL, and Middle Bass Island, OH.

June had a passion for reading, knitting, bowling, and walking.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Karen M. Leyda and Laura A. Leyda, and her dear sister, Margaret Woolaver. June was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her daughter, Debra L. Leyda; and her son, Craig H. Leyda.

The family extends a special thanks to June’s dedicated aides, Laura Guy of Home Instead and Shenese Thomas of Ohio Living Hospice, for their compassionate care and support.

June’s warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St, Maumee, OH 43537. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions in June’s memory may be made to Sunshine Communities.
