Hubble L. Finch

Hubble L. Finch age 92 of Perrysburg, OH died peacefully on March 27, 2018, with his loving wife, Rose, at his side. Hub was born, and lived his entire life in Perrysburg. He was the son of Riley (Hap) Finch and Helen (Parker) Finch, and he had two sisters, Geraldine and Gwen; all of whom preceded him in death. Hubble was a decorated World War II Veteran. He served first in the Navy, and then as a medic in the Marine Corp. After returning from the war, he met and married the love of his life, Rose (Cope) Finch. They celebrated 70 years of marriage in September, 2017. Hub and Rose had five children; Diane (Finch) Sickles, who passed away in 1989; Susan (Finch) Clark of McKinney, Texas; Michael Finch of Highland Village, Texas; Roselyn (Finch) Gries, who passed away in 2007; and Jeffrey Finch of Perrysburg, Ohio. No one enjoyed life more than Hub. After raising their children, he and Rose retired in 1981 and made their winter home in Sarasota, Florida for 35 years. Every day was a vacation for them and their many Florida friends with dancing, dinners, card games, golf, fishing, and day trips. They cruised many times and took more than 30 trips to Las Vegas, as well as traveling the country by air and by road trip. Hub and Rose were inseparable and enjoyed each others company until the end. They sold their home and have resided at The Waterford at Levis Commons since 2014. Hubble is survived by his loving wife, Rose, and three living children, Susan (Peter) Clark, Mike (Wendy) Finch, and Jeff (Donna) Finch; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and son-in-laws, Jim Sickles and Robert Gries. The family will receive friends at St Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg, on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 10 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM.
