Howard J. Trosin, born June 12, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan, passed away Tuesday May 15, 2018 in Flower Hospital, Sylvania, Ohio. His family moved to Monroe, MIchigan where he went on to attend Monroe High School. Upon graduation, he served in the US Army. On October 22, 1949, he married Jean Navarre at St. John Church in Monroe. During their marriage of 68 years, they were blessed with three loving children, Stephen (Denise) Trosin, Jill Trosin, and Christine (Dave) Courtney. Howards career was spent primarily in the manufacturing distribution industry where he retired from the DeVilbiss Company as Distribution Manager. Shortly before his retirement, he and his wife moved to Sylvania, Ohio. Since moving there, they have been members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. His greatest passion was his love of family. He was a very talented craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands on projects for family and friends. Other hobbies included golf and cars. Preceded in death were his parents, brother, Donald Trosin and grandson Brett Mominee, he is survived by his wife Jean; son Stephen (Denise) Trosin; daughters Jill Trosin and Christine (Dave) Courtney; grandchildren Ryan (Samantha) Courtney, Matthew (Julie) Hoff, Chad (Lauren) Trosin, Megan (Ryan) Angus, Lindsay Trosin, Tricia (Paul) Duran, Callie Trosin and Kara Mominee; and 18 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Monday from 2-8 pm. A memorial mass will be held Tuesday at 10 am in St. Josephs Church, Sylvania.
