Howard B. Lang, 86, of Genoa, Ohio died Saturday, November 23, 2013 in his residence after a brief illness. Howard was born in Toledo, OH on June 11, 1927 to Arthur T. and Rachel E. Daugherty Lang and on September 20, 1952 he married Mary E. St Aubin in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Toledo. Mary preceded him in death on January 27, 2007. Howard entered the U.S. Army and served his country during WWII. Howard later went to work in the administrative office of Martin Marietta Corp. in Woodville, OH for 28 years retiring in 1992. After his retirement he was a staff member of the Robinson-Henn-Brossia Funeral Home in Genoa for several years. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa, the American Legion Post #455, Woodville, a charter member of Mudjaw Bowmen, a leader of Boy Scout Troop #136, the Woodville Civic Club, Woodville Kiwanis Club, and past president and member of the Genoa Chamber of Commerce. Survivors of Howard include his daughter, Carol Lang Allen, sons, Tom Lang and Joseph Lang, 2 grandsons, and 2 granddaughters, 2 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Thomasine Swartz, his loving friend Dorothy Whitacre, his caregiver and friend Amber Shepard and loving nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary, brother, Paul his wife Jean Lang. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Howard at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 204 S. Main St., Genoa, OH. Visitation will be in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH from 3-8 PM on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. A Scripture Service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 PM on Tuesday evening. Interment will be in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. The family suggests memorial contributions in Howards memory be directed to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or the Donors choice. Howard will be remembered by his family and friends as being a loving, thoughtful, humorous and adventurous man who enjoyed interacting with whomever was around him. He had a great appreciation for the splendor of nature and the drive to preserve it.
