Hilda M. Roecker, beloved mother, 85, of Genoa, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 30, 2011, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio, surrounded by her family. Hilda was born August 6, 1925, in Pemberville, Ohio, to Edward and Marie Martin Dorfmeyer. On June 29, 1946, in Woodville, Ohio, she married the love of her life, Milton W. Roecker, who preceded her in death August 31, 2007. Hilda retired from Millers New Market in Genoa in 1987 as cashier having worked over 35 years in the grocery industry. Hilda was loved by many and cared deeply for her family. She loved to travel visiting many sites in the states. She enjoyed visiting with friends at the Genoa Senior Center, where she volunteered and played the piano and played cards with her many friends. She was a member of Solomon Lutheran Church in Woodville and served as past treasurer of the Sunday School for many years. Her other memberships included the American Legion Auxiliary Post #324 of Genoa, where she was very active and served as a past president; the Tresetta Club; and a guild member of the Luther Home of Mercy in Williston. Hilda was also a Cub Scout den mother for many years. She is survived by her sons, Edward J. Karen Roecker of Monroe, MI, Gary L. Jill Roecker of Battle Creek, MI, and daughter, Cynthia A. Roecker of Genoa; grandchildren, Kurt Colleen Roecker, Andrew Heather Roecker, Spencer Kristi Roecker, Anthony Greta Roecker and Christopher Roecker; great grandchildren, Haley, Caroline and Katelyn Roecker; brother, Adelbert Bud Clara Dorfmeyer of Woodville and sister, Joanne Hetrick of Hattiesburg, MS. Her parents, husband, and brother, Herbert Dorfmeyer, preceded her in death. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, April 3, 2011, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH; the American Legion Auxiliary will hold a service at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2011, in Solomon Lutheran Church, Woodville, followed by interment in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials for Hilda to Solomon Lutheran Church, Woodville, or the Luther Home of Mercy, Williston.
