Henry G. Hank Lanier, 86, of Toledo, Ohio, died Saturday, February 26, 2011, at St. Annes Mercy Hospital. Hank was born in Savannah, GA, on February 12, 1925, to Arthur and Ola Bell Lanier. He worked in the die casting dept. of the former Doehler-Jarvis Co. as a press operator for 23 years retiring in 1987. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII during 1943-1946. He was a member of the Toledo Bass Club and participated in many fishing tournaments. He was a member of Cornerstone Church for 13 years. Hank also enjoyed watching football, golf, and baseball. Survivors include his children, John Rocky Angie Lanier, Karen Dennis McCarthy, Shyree Ricky Addie, 6 grandchildren, and brother Arthur Lanier, of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation for Hank will be from 4-7 pm, Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in the Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 5155 Sylvania Avenue West of Corey Rd., with a funeral service beginning at 7 pm. Interment will be private in the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions in Hanks name be to any local food bank.
