Henry C. Hansen

June 5, 1945 — September 17, 2023

Henry C. Hansen, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at his residence on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the age of 78. Henry was born in Toledo on June 5, 1945, to Raymond and Marie (Tooman) Hansen and lived in the Toledo area for most of his life. He met Linda S. (Bickel) in high school, and they became sweethearts. Henry was called into the U.S. Marine Corps in August of 1962 and served proudly until his discharge in October of 1966. While home on leave he married his sweetheart, Linda, on December 23, 1965, in Toledo. They shared 56 years together until her death on August 30, 2021.

Henry was a truck driver and proud member of Teamsters Local 20 for his entire career. He started driving for the former Continental Coffee Co. and retired in 2003 from the former Jones Transfer Co., both in Toledo. Henry was also a lifetime member of the American Legion.

Henry was a family man by every definition. He worked hard, was a good provider and set a good example for his children and grandchildren. When his sons were young, playing baseball and track, he never missed their contests, expecting the best of each one. He also enjoyed a good conversation, especially when it involved politics.

Henry is survived by his sons, Craig Hansen and Tim (Kimberly) Hansen, grandchildren, Brett Hansen, Morganne (James) Reyes, Andrew Hansen, Evan Rantanen, Mallory Hansen, Ava Rantanen, surrogate grandchild, Megan D’Clute, great-grandchildren, Braedyn Tammarine, Braxton Tammarine, Sloane Hansen and Ophelia Hansen, brother, Tom (Colleen) Hansen, sisters, Joanne (Scott) Howe, Janet Hardy, and his close friends, Don & Becky D’Clute. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Bernadine McNutt.
