Henry E. 'Red' Frederick, 94, formally of Rossford Ohio, passed away peacefully at The Waterford at Levis Commons in Perrysburg, Ohio on Friday December 16, 2011. He was born on March 6th, 1917 to Lillian and Elbert Frederick in Toledo, Ohio. Henry Graduated from Waite High School and went on to serve in the US Navy as a CPO during WWII. On June 7th, 1952 Henry married Kathryn (Long) who survives him in death. Henry opened and operated Red’s Radio Repair in East Toledo where he served the community for over 50 years. He was a lifelong member of First Alliance Church. Upon Retirement, Henry enjoyed continuing to tinker in his shop, completing puzzles, and he was an avid gardener. In addition to his loving wife, Kathryn, Henry is survived by daughters, Carol (Mike) Cameron of Perrysburg and Julie (Harold) Elvey of Oregon; Grandchildren, Elaine (Brett) Unzicker of Athens, GA and Kurtis (Tracee) Elvey of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by his brother, Larry (Vi) Frederick of Seattle, WA. He is preceded in death by his son, Henry Jr., and grandson, Elliot. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 P.M. on Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 20, 2011 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Keith Sholl officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
