Henrietta M. Carroll

July 10, 1943 — December 4, 2025

Port Clinton

Henrietta Marie Carroll, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, was born on July 10, 1943, in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Alexander and Mary (Gresh) Andrews. The middle child of three, she grew up alongside her older brother Douglas (Bonnie) Andrews and her younger brother Gerald (Sue – deceased) Andrews.

Henrietta’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children Diane (Mark) Stroh, Derek Carroll, James Carroll, and Paula (Jamie) Greider; grandchildren Jay Greider (Alyssa Araguz), Lauren Greider (CJ Colflesh), Jordan Greider (Allison Whisman), Alexander Stroh (Megan Bingaman), and Katherine Siefert (Austin); and great-grandchildren Beckham Siefert and a great-granddaughter expected in early January.

A proud graduate of Port Clinton High School (Class of 1961), Henrietta went on to earn a degree in computer technology from Terra Technical Community College. She dedicated more than 30 years of service to Edgewood Manor, where her work and kindness touched many lives.

Faith was central to Henrietta’s life. As a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Parish, attending every weekend even if by watching on television. She served the church as a Holy Communion distributor and extended that ministry by bringing the sacrament to homebound members of the community. Henrietta’s days were brightened by her volunteer work at Immaculate Conception School, serving as a playground mentor and helping those students get safely to the junior high for their lunch hour.

Henrietta’s love of nature was evident in her gardens, always having at least three at home and more at her parents’. She delighted in choosing flowers for Mother’s Day. Henrietta cherished visits to Marblehead Lighthouse and “Baba’s Lake,” where her grandparents lived, and she pursued genealogy to learn more about her family’s roots. A friend to all animals, she had a special place in heart for any cat that came in to her life or yard. Above all, Henrietta treasured time spent with her family, who will remember her for her warmth, devotion, and gentle spirit.

Visitation will be held at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton on Thursday, December 11, from 9-11 AM. Funeral mass to follow at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Noon, with procession to Riverview Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made in Henrietta’s name to the Humane Society of Ottawa County or Immaculate Conception Church.

Henrietta’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
